Connect Razorpay

Razorpay sells in India with UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets. You are the seller on your own Razorpay account. It takes one-time prices only.

Connect your account

  1. Open Connect. In Payments, under Razorpay, choose Connect on the Test side. Keep the window open.
  2. Add our webhook. In Razorpay's dashboard, in test mode, open Account & Settings, then Webhooks, then Add new webhook. Paste the address and the secret the window shows, and tick the events it lists.
  3. Make API keys. Still in test mode, open Account & Settings, then API Keys, and generate a key. Paste the key ID and key secret into the window. We store both secrets encrypted.
  4. Connect live at go-live. Repeat on the Live side, with Razorpay in live mode.
  • One connection serves all your apps. Test and live connect separately.
  • Price the app in rupees on its Pricing tab. Other currencies need International Payments turned on in Razorpay.
  • To send one app through Razorpay while others use Stripe, pick Razorpay on that app's Pricing tab.

How the buyer pays

The watch's QR code opens Razorpay's own payment page on the phone, already linked to that watch. The buyer pays with a UPI app, a card, netbanking or a wallet, then comes back to our page and the watch unlocks.

Fees

Razorpay takes its own fee on each sale. Our plan price is the same whichever processor you use.

What we listen for

Razorpay eventWhat it meansWhat the watch does
payment_link.paidPaidUnlocks within about a second if its buy screen is open; otherwise when it next asks.
refund.processedRefundedLocks at its next check; at once if its buy screen is open.
payment.dispute.created, .won, .lost, .closedA dispute opened or endedStays unlocked unless the dispute is lost.

We read every event back from Razorpay before acting on it, and check it against the checkout we made: the watch and app, the amount, the currency, and test or live.

Refunds

Refund from the sale's page in the dashboard, or in Razorpay. Either way the watch locks.
